Little Cloud Extension Activities

Outside Investigation

What clouds do you see outside? Take a dark sheet of paper and a white crayon or chalk
outside on a clipboard. Draw the clouds you see. Are they wispy? Are they big and
covering the sky? If so, what might happen next. Do you imagine your clouds making
pictures? A shape, an animal, a tree?

Cloud Dough

Ingredients
2 cups cornstarch
1 cup hair conditioner
A drop of food coloring (if desired)

In a bowl mix 2 cups of cornstarch with 1 cup of hair conditioner. (We didn’t have that
much cornstarch, so I divided it in half). Mix together. If it’s too sticky add more
cornstarch. If it’s too dry add more conditioner. We ended up needing to add more
cornstarch as ours was too sticky.

Shaving Cream Cloud Pictures

Shaving cream on a cookie sheet makes a great place to draw clouds. This is a great sensory experience.

Tune in tomorrow to hear from Mrs. Elliott!
